With our film being classified as a horror/mystery and drama genre our film used conventions such as short takes, dark lighting, and foreshadowing to add suspense. These conventions were purposely used to make the audience aware of the stalker, while the characters in the film had no idea they were being followed. The stalker in our film wore dark clothing and struck at night, which is very conventional in horror/mystery films. Throughout our film we used incidental music to create a sense of suspense and unknown among the audience. Short takes were used near the end of the film to intensify the mood of both the viewers and the characters because it goes from slow to heart- racing.
Our film focuses on teenage girls for our target population and social group. Today, teenage girls believe they do not need protection and are somewhat clueless. This film captures the idea that teenage girls are less aware of their surroundings and that they walk alone at night when they shouldn’t. The issues presented in this film are that young teenage girls are being taken advantage of and that teenager girls should always stay together and never be alone at night.
