Project Selection-My Decision

After weighing the pros and cons of each project, I have chosen to do the film project. Movies interest me more than magazines do. Also, I have more skills in editing film than I do with anything magazines. Some skill I possess that would be a good fit for the film project would be my family member who produces films and TV shows, taking a video/film editing class, and I work well in a group. The main determining factors for my final decision are my love for movies and my group also wanting to do the film project. I will be working in a group, and I cannot wait to start filming with them. Each group member will take a turn filming on the camera and editing. My group members are creative when designing costumes and set, and that makes up for my lack of creativity, so we work well together. Each group member possess' different skills that are a good fit for the film such as Annalise being good at working camera angles, and Lily being good at acting and having great communication skil...

Project Selection-Film

The film project interests me because I absolutely love watching movies. Movies interest me because there are tons of different genres to watch, so they never get old. The film project would be a good fit for me because I have a family member who produces movies and TV shows, so they could give me some pointers on how to proceed with my project. Also, I took a video editing class, so I know how to trim videos down and cut from scene to scene. I also learned that you need to take more cuts than you need in order to get the perfect shot, and then you can trim down in the final editing stage. From the TV show "The Newsroom," I learned that you cannot go over the time allowed for that segment because you will lose your audience, so I need get to the point quickly in my film. The film project could ...

Project Selection-Magazine

The magazine project interests me because I am very fascinated with the art of photography. I took creative photography my freshman year and absolutely loved it. To get the perfect shot, I would set up props and travel all around town until I was satisfied with my work. I would then edit the photos in Photoshop and add effects to them. Writing is also my best subject and I am very good at it, so that would be an advantage to me for the magazine project. Another skill I have that would make the magazine project a good fit for me would be my ability to formulate questions. I am taking AICE Global Perspectives this year which has helped me tremendously with writing formal papers and asking questions that are relevant to the topic and broad in meaning. The ability to ask questions is a huge skill to have because it will help me in my interviews with people for the magazine. From the film "All President's Men," I learned the process of writing a story for a magazine such as re...
