Feedback and Revisions

Before our final submission, we plan to make a few revisions to improve our film. Our group wants to re-shoot the beginning of the film and make longer takes instead of the short takes they are now, in order to slow down the pace of the film. We also want to make the stalker more present throughout the film so it is easy for the audience to follow. Additionally, we will be adding incidental music to add suspense as the stalker closes in on the teenage girl. I think that when we are re-shooting the mall scene for the beginning of our film, we need to make it seem more natural and really focus on the stalker walking behind the group of girls and following them out of the mall. The more scenes of the hooded stalker, the more the audience will understand the foreshadowing and the plot of the film. We also are going to change the font size of the text so that it fits better with the new edits and makes it flow.

All of these changes will improve our film because they will better portray the genre of horror and mystery. By adding more scenes of the stalker, it will be easier for the audience to follow along and keep them on the edge of their seats. The incidental music creates an eerie mood and is used by many horror and mystery films to create suspense and foreshadowing as for whats to come. By adding these changes the audience will be more engaged and have a better understanding of whats to come.

We will carry out these changes by re-shooting the beginning of the film early enough, in order to have plenty of time for edits and sound. Also, we will all need to wear the same clothes, so that it looks like it was one continuous day and adds to the reality of the film. Lastly, we will be more experienced with Adobe Premiere Pro, so our edits and incidental music will improve.

Third Quarter Submission

For our quarter three submission we revised some parts of our film. We re-shot the beginning of our film to slow down the pace of the film. We also added new fonts and coloring in the beginning of our film for our names and opening title, to have special effects and make it more personal. Our original titles were red and had no effect, so this time we added a pop-in special effect for "Girl's Night" title to create a theme for the film. Additionally, we added incidental music at the end of our film to create suspense and mystery. All these revisions were made to add a sense of reality and more suspense throughout our film. Throughout this new submission I learned how to edit sound and put it in the film, how to add special effects to titles, and how to work with PremierePro at a higher level.

Audience Engagement Research-The Irishman

The film "The Irishman" appeals to all age groups, but mainly older men and younger women. This is a history movie, so it attracts an older crowd who experienced the same events as the characters in the movie did. Also, it captures the attention of younger women because they are featured throughout the film and they did not experience the same events as the older men did, so they are inclined to learn about the past. Our movie, "Girls Night", is a drama, mystery, suspense, and comedy film that targets teenage girls and men. "The Irishman" is a drama, mystery, and suspense film with use of intelligent humor throughout. The film "The Irishman", also uses foreshadowing throughout the film to keep the audience engaged and lines of dry humor to keep the audience laughing. Our target audiences are similar because teenagers go see movies with vulgar language and men go see movies about events they have experienced in their lifetime. "The Irishman...

Casting

Our main character for this film is a girl named Lily. In the story, she is the hostess of the sleepover and the driver of the car home. Lily is described as a very happy person who likes to adventure with friends. To play this role we chose a girl named Lily Sikorski because she is very outgoing, loud, and has a big personality. In this film she is the teenage girl who is scared by a man in a black hoodie. We knew that Lily had a very projective voice and does not get stage fright in front of the camera or crowds. She was the perfect fit, us the directors, had in mind for our protagonist. Our next character was Lizzy, Lily's friend. We wanted to make it seem realistic, so we chose actual real life friends of Lily's for the film. Lizzy was picked for this role because she is very social and is funny. Additionally, our next character, Annalise, is playing the role of Lily's friend. She was picked for this position because she is the quiet one of the group and looks out for u...
