The film "Escape Room" appeals to teenagers and adults since it is rated PG-13. Our film targets teenage girls and adults, and relates to issues worldwide. Additionally, our film is also a comedy/drama genre that has some comical dialogue and conversations that teenage girls would normally have, so that people laugh and stay inclined to watch the rest of the film. "Escape Room" is a drama/mystery genre film that keeps the audience engaged with cliff hangers and dramatic/intense action scenes about survival and death. Our target audiences are similar because teenagers and adults love going to see movies that will keep them on the edge of the seat the entire movie and have them anticipating the next move. The film "Escape Room" marketed their film by having Columbia Pictures promote their social media uses and having a real life 360-degree video of the escape room out for the public to view. Columbia Pictures used social media outlets such as Instagram hashtags and YouTube trailers to promote their film. The real life 360-degree video of the escape room the characters were in increased the viewings of this film and the digital engagement worldwide on mobile devices. Persuasive techniques such as leaving the trailer to end with a cliff hanger made people more inclined to watch the film to find out how it ended, and the use of the 360-degree video of the escape room interested people into figuring out who died and who escaped. Furthermore, social media outlets such as YouTube, Instagram, and billboards all around the world were used to promote this mysterious film. To market my film, I would place my movie trailer in movies with the same genre and similar target audiences' to grab the attention of the viewers and make them more inclined to see my film. I would also use social media outlets such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram to promote my film with the use of hashtags and fan pages. Lastly, I would conduct interviews with the main stars and directors to answer any questions the viewers have, in order to keep the audience intrigued.
For our quarter three submission we revised some parts of our film. We re-shot the beginning of our film to slow down the pace of the film. We also added new fonts and coloring in the beginning of our film for our names and opening title, to have special effects and make it more personal. Our original titles were red and had no effect, so this time we added a pop-in special effect for "Girl's Night" title to create a theme for the film. Additionally, we added incidental music at the end of our film to create suspense and mystery. All these revisions were made to add a sense of reality and more suspense throughout our film. Throughout this new submission I learned how to edit sound and put it in the film, how to add special effects to titles, and how to work with PremierePro at a higher level.
