The film "The Heat" appeals to all age groups, especially teenagers because of the comedy and the dialogue. Our film is a mystery and comedy genre that appeals to teenage girls all over the world, and deals with real life issues. "The Heat" uses foreshadowing through the film to keep the audience engaged and lines of comedy to keep the audience laughing. Our target audiences are similar because teenagers go to comedy movies to see and hear the vulgar jokes with their friends, and to mystery movies to see if they get scared. The film "The Heat", marketed their film by the use of billboards and social media. They used YouTube to market their trailer and inserted the trailer into movies of similar genre so people would be more inclined to watch their film. Persuasive techniques such as appealing to people's pathos were used to make them laugh at times during film and feel bad for the main characters at times. Social media such as YouTube and a Facebook fan page were used to get the attention of the audience and persuade them to come see the movie. To market my film, I would put my movie trailer in movies with the same genre and target audience to capture the attention of the viewers to make them more inclined to go see the movie. I would also use billboards and social media outlets such as YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook to promote my film. This film was released in 2013, so it used similar social media aspects to market the film and catch the attention of the audience.
For our quarter three submission we revised some parts of our film. We re-shot the beginning of our film to slow down the pace of the film. We also added new fonts and coloring in the beginning of our film for our names and opening title, to have special effects and make it more personal. Our original titles were red and had no effect, so this time we added a pop-in special effect for "Girl's Night" title to create a theme for the film. Additionally, we added incidental music at the end of our film to create suspense and mystery. All these revisions were made to add a sense of reality and more suspense throughout our film. Throughout this new submission I learned how to edit sound and put it in the film, how to add special effects to titles, and how to work with PremierePro at a higher level.
